Iran's ‘Heaven’ is to vie at 2022 Vaasa festival

Iranian animation ‘Heaven’ is to compete at the Vaasa Wildlife Festival in Finland.

Iranian animation ‘Heaven’ has been selected to compete at the 20th edition of the Vaasa Wildlife Festival in Finland.

Directed by Majid-Reza Eivazi, the animation is about the issue of putting jungles on fire by human beings.

‘Heaven’ narrates the story of a fox that hunts a crow and eats it. But then, the fox is hunted by a man who later puts the jungle on fire.

The director says “we see a man who causes the jungle to catch fire and he is burned with the fire he started”.

It took Eivazi two years to make this animation as an independent work.

The animation has previously participated in the 15th edition of the Animart Festival in Greece.

The Vaasa Wildlife Festival aims to host films with themes that are related to climate change and people's relationship with nature.

The festival will be held from September 28 to October 2, 2022.
